Gold Parking Permits Available to Students & Employees
Parking and Transportation Services has completed Gold lot utilization surveys
and will be making a limited number of Specific Lot Gold permits available for
purchase by students and temporary employees, who are otherwise not eligible.
The permits will be valid only in Gold lots 14 (steam plant), 19 (north of Law
Bldg), and 56 (north of lot 19). The map below shows the location of these
parking lots.
The permits will be available for purchase at the current Gold permit rate ($300) beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, September 28 at the Parking Office in the North Campus Center.
Current Red and Blue permit holders do have the option of returning the Red or Blue permit and upgrading to a Specific Lot Gold permit as desired. Doing so will require refunding the Red or Blue permit, returning the physical permit to the Parking Office, and then purchasing the Gold permit.
Lot 14 at the steam plant, and lot 19 and 56 north of the Law building have been identified as consistently underutilized parking lots. Click here for a summary of the utilization of these three lots. Specific Lot Gold permits will be valid only in the three Gold lots previously mentioned (14, 19, 56) and Blue lots. Vehicles displaying Specific Lot Gold permits will be subject to citation if parked in any other Gold lot on campus. Click here to go to the section on Specific Lot Gold parking permits within the University of Idaho Parking Regulations.
Parking and Transportation Services is limiting the number of Specific Lot Gold permits available and will continue to survey these parking lots to ensure that current Gold permit holders are not displaced. Initially, only 75 permits will be released. Lots will then be re-surveyed and we will determine if additional permits can be released or not.
Academic Year Parking Enforcement
Effective Monday, August 24 at 6 a.m. all parking areas on campus require valid permits or payment. Overnight parking is enforced between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. in all Gold, Red, Blue lots (with the exception of lot 60 and 30). The University of Idaho Parking Regulations can be found here.
