Ballroom Dance

It’s time to spice up your life and try this exciting
ballroom dance class. You will learn the basic steps,
positions, partnering and turns to such popular dances
as the Waltz, Fox Trot, Cha-Cha, Tango, and Rhumba.
Come, meet new people, and enjoy the exercise. No
partner required. Please wear comfortable clothes
and indoor shoes with a slim heel (ladies) or soft
sole (men).
Instructor: Julie Strobel, with 17 years of professional
experience in teaching health and dance classes,
choreographs dances for all ages and has been
involved with the UI Dance Theatre; Dancers,
Drummers and Dreamers; and has guest taught for
numerous studios, fitness clubs, and universities. Date:Tuesdays & Thursdays, May 30–June 29 (no
class 6/20 & 6/22), 7:15–8:15 p.m., 8 sessions Location:The Black Rhino, 215 N. Main Street, Moscow Fee: $76 couple, $40 single
East Coast Swing is a social dance that orginated
in Harlem, New York during the roaring 1920s and
1930s. This dance style is very popular, energetic,
competitive, and fun. In new, longer sessions, students
learn the basics of the eight count Charleston, small
aerials, six count swing step, direction change,
partnering (leading and following), framing, and turns.
This swing class gets you fired up and makes you want
more. Wear comfortable clothes and preferably an
indoor dress shoe. No partner required!
